MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Police cases in the Magistrate's Court 10-day were dealt with by Mr. E. Page, 8.-M. Two first offenders for drunkenness, who had spent the night in the cells; were conyicted and discharged. Leonard Walter Cooper, a miner, aged 24, was charged with having stolen at Kurow a gold chain, valued at £i. SubInspector Lander said that Cooper was arrested this morning on the arrival of the ferry steamer at Wellington. On the sub-inspector's application, the accused was remanded to appear at Timaru on Wednesday next. ;On a charge of having behaved in a disorderly manner while drunk in Waripori street, Amor Fargerholm was fined £1, in default three days' imprisonment.
