The only trade exhibit was that oi Mr. T. Waugh, wli^sc stand held a collection of pot plants, roses, and hydriinxeas. .In the competitive suctions pride of place was taken by a. magnificent display of poppies, the large variegated Oriental puppies attracting special notice. The sweet peas were another popular display, and niudi interest was taken in a display of about seventy native Mirubs, all collected locally. The home industries clays was well lilled, and the children's classes attracted over three hundred entries. So far the society has held only one show each year, bnt.it hopes to promote another in the autumn, to become an animal fixture. Vesterdiiy's show was opened by the Mayor of Upper Hutt (Mr. P. Kobcrtsmi), who congratulated the society, and wished it every success. The Mayor was iutrochiced by the president of the society, Dr. V. XV. Kemp. THE PRIZE LIST.
