RESIDENCE DESTROYED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The residence of 11. Francis, in Poary road, Mount Eden, was completely gutted by lire at 2 a.m. Mr. Francis and his wife were awakened by the roar of the lire. . Opening tho bedroom door they found the hall a mass of flames. Both scrambled out through a small window, and Mrs. Francis is suffering from bruises and shock. The property is owned by W. Hawthorn.
