BIG HAUL FOR BURGLARS , (By Tolograph.) I (Special to "The Evening Post.") j CHRISTCHURCH,'This Day. While Mr. .Victor C. Peters was conducting the concert of the Harmonic Society on Saturday evening his home in Mount Pleasant road, Rcdcliffs, was entered by burglars. Their haul included Mr. Peters's war pension, which he had drawn on Friday, together with a considerable amount of money from ticket sales which Mr. Peters held on behalf of the Harmonic Society, three dozen of his best gramophone recor_», a brand new Mosgicl rug, a gold jarsentation fountain pen, and a pair or opera j glasses.. j The intruders must have been very swift, workers; Mr. and Mrs. Peters left their home at 7 o'clock and returned promptly at 10.30. People wero about until 9.30, and somo neighbours were out ou their balcony with a gramophone. Operations wore confined to less than an hour, but in that time somo fast work was done. Mr. Peters described the state of tho houso as a "terrible mess." All the floors were littered, ink spilt on the carpets, drawers were emptied, and the contents of wardrobes thrown ' out. They went through every pocket in every ono of Mr. Peters's suits, and'all his correspondence was inspected.' The burglars were probably disturbed and left the house in a hurry, for the back dor was open, and a purse containing money was left on the kitchen table.
