Mr. E. Page, S.M., has returned to Wellington from tho Rotorua district. Mr. D. Jones and Mr. A. Hamilton arrived from the South by the Wahine this morning. j Mr. E. W. Kane, Clerk of the Houseof Representatives, has returned to Wellington from Rotorua. Mr. H. D. Acland arrived by the Wahine from Lyttelton to-day. Subject to his acceptance of the position, Mr. D. A. __wen was last evening appointed the representative of tho | Lower Hutt Borough Council on the Hutt Valley High School in place of the late Mr. Hy. Baldwin. I Mr. T. P. Hanna, acountant in the inspector's office of the Bank of Australasia, Wellington, has been notified lof his appointment as sub-inspector, in Australia. Ho will be stationed in Melbourne, and, with Mrs. Hanna, will leave Wellington for Melbourne, on 7th December. Mr. Hanna was born in Palmerston North, where he began his banking career with the Bank of Australasia, whose service ho entered in I.OOS. He served tiie bank at Taihapc and Hamilton, and some branches in the South Island before being -transferred to Wellington.
