Then about 4 oVlockVmy father arid I and my sister and'another little girl went to get the milk.! We just got1 down as all the cows. were.'coining out from being. inilkci3;; -there wero: so ■ many of "them :thttt-;V'alls;the i motor-cars had; to stop while'they got-'along. I must stop now.' '•■: '■■ ■'•■■'■ ■*■■■'■' . ' "FRECKLES.'/ Heretaungu. Bear Fairiel,—We had a huge bon fire for-Guy .Fawkes and the number of crackers we had I cannot say! There wore all kinds, especially the graceful fountains; they ;wore ; lovely. I don't suppose you saw many bon fires around town, except around the hills. Now and then, Fairiel, a flash of blue, pink, and white shot from somewhere just like lightning. At school the bottom playground. is one mass of gold, white, and pink, with two big bushes of white broom above. Is it not funny, Fairiel, that we have not had one Saturday without the sun shining? We.have built a small house of pine wood and tin on the top of the shed, and on Saturday as I went up there to my amazement I found a brown and white terrier shivering with the cold. Ho barked at first,. and I was frightened, so I. called'.to-liim and he came down. I'rubbed his shaggy wet' coat and patted his small head and ted him. I do not know whose dog it is, but he is a playful little' fellow. With love, Khandallah. . "PETAL."
