CRICKET TOURS
' SOUTH AFRICA'S PLANS • It is highly probable that South Africa will accept the invitation of Australia to send a cricket team therein the 1931-32 season, though the decision will depend to a. large extent on the deliborations of the Imperial Cricket Conference, which South Africa would like to oeo arranged in 1929. Mr. A. C. Webber, the president of the South African Cricket Association, stated recently that South Africa was suggesting a conference mainly to arrange a programme of international tours after 1030. This will euablo tho South African authorities to map out a definite programme for some years ahead. No official plan has as yet been dounitoly adopted, though a rough list of engagements has been drawn up. This shows that hopes are held that the M.C.C. will tour South Africa shortly after tho South African tour of Australia, and that a return visit by South Africa to England would be made in 1934. South Africa has also been very keen on securing a visit from an Australian team, and it 'is on the cards that an invitation might bo sent to that Dominion to tour this country in lOiio.
