GRAND OPERA HOUSE.
To-night at the Grand Opera House the J. i O. Williamson London Company, headed by Mr. Percy Hutchison, will be seen in the final drama of the season, which will be staged for only two nights, "The Joker." It was received with enthusiasm when staged in London, and it was described as "one of tlie most gripping plays yet presented, with a touch of humour and a well-denned plot—qualifications somewhat rare nowadays." Mr..Percy Hutchison will also play the leading male part, that of Peter Carstairs, which is said to be one of Ills best characterisations. The parts have been carefully allotted. Miss Stella Frances as Jill Vane Is a prominent member, and Messrs. E. Kayson Couscns (Hemming), K. Steuart West (Arthur Mainwaring). Townsend Whitling (.Major James Borwick), Victor Watts-Weston (Scrubby). Leslie Laurier (Rogers), and William Ralston (Inspector G.arrett) are in important roles. "Tlie Joker" will be preceded by the sparkling one-act comedy. "The Peacemaker," in which .Miss Frances Dillon is seen as Elizabeth Lavender, with a specially selected cast.
