A message, which iriay explain the fate of Lieut.-Coiniriander Macdonaldj has been issued by Lloyds. It was picked up by tho Portishead Wireless station from the steamer Firach, Via ■the steanier Scheneetady■ Caledonia: i— "Firach sighted 17th October, at 11.30 o'clock, at big distance, lights most probably resembling explosion." It is significant that the bearings given i-or-resporid very closely with the position where Macdonald was sighted by the Hardenburg. The time is also similar.
