"I have been told women only make trouble when they go iiito Parliament," said Mrs. Maguire, Reform candidate for Auckland East the other evening. "I knew when to keep quiet in the City Council, ana I shall use the same discretion when I am in Parliament. There aro one or two things 1 will have to alter in Parliament. For one thing, I object't6 the members going to sleep. They have no-right to go to sleep during debates* Let us do honour to pur. Parliament. We do not want it made a iaugiirig. stock. (Applause.) I want dignity and honour in Parliament;'' In conclusion^ Mr& Maguire made an appeal to the iroinen to assist hen She said 1000 women in the electorate did not exercise their votes at the last election, but if they voted for her on this occasion she wouid ''sail in."
