MR. M'KEEN'S CAMPAIGN

Tie Labour candidate for Wellington South, Mr. B. M'Keen, M.R, had a good audience at Wallace street last night, Mr. J. Hunter presiding. The candidate explained what had been done in regard to the organisation of the district for the campaign, and expressed satisfaction at the nature of the reports. Mr. M'Keen referred to unemployment, describing the position today as being more acute than it had been for many years. Tho Government, he contended, was doing practically nothing in the matter. Mr. M'Keen said that the rent restriction legislation would expire at the end of the year, the Government having failed to revive it and give preference to the tenants that needed it. He was disappointed that the session had concluded without a re-enactment of that legislation. >v
