A SERIES OF CHARGES • (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post,") -• DUNEDIN, This Day. "In company with another man, tho accused has passed valueless cheques in various'towns between Auckland and Gore," said Chief-Detective Canteron, in Court this morning, when Herbert Eollinson was charged, with, obtaining £5 0s Id by means of a valueless cheque. In asking for a remand until 24th October, the Chief-Detective added that the total amount of valueless cheques passed by accused and his companion was something like £.120. He desired to make further inquiries to determine whether the other man could also be charged., Mr. White, who appeared for • the accused, said he did not oppose the remand, but asked for bail. His client haa given the police every assistance in clearing up the matter. Rollinson was remanded till 24th October, bail being allowed in his own recognisance of £250, and one surety of £50. ■ y
