Since Sunday, however, the latter has been decreasing in extent, and a vigorous disturbance has been advancing over the Tasman Sea, resulting in a fall in pressure in the southern districts. Fair to fine and mild weather has been experienced over the Dominion as a whole, but by this morning it had become more cloudy in the! western districts south from Kawhia, and rain was falling at isolated places in Westland. Winds have been light and variable north of New Plymouth and Napier, while elsewhere moderate to strong north to west winds have predominated, with gale force at times about Cook Strait.
