The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 29th September, from the High Commissioner for NoV Zealand, London: — : Tallow. —No auctions this week. :Mar-' ket firm at last quotations. Eggs.—Smaller arrivals, and best meeting good demand. Present quotations are: English, 17s 6d to 22s per long 100; Dutch, lus 6d to 20s; Danish, French, 15s to 18s Gd; Belgian, 14s 6d to 10s; Lithuanian, Polish, Russian,'9s 6d to 13s 9d. ( Hemp.—Manila market continues dull. "J" grade October-December shipment sold down to £33. Closing value £32 10s. Sisal market quiet. Closing values, No. 1 sellers £35 10s, No. 2 £34. New Zealand market quiet and barely steady. Nominal' closing values, October-December shipments: Highpoints, £31 10s; fair, £28 15s. Tow, 2nd grade, £20 10s; 3rd grade, £17 10s. . . ■ Wool.—Sales continue, and though competition better, prices of most descriptions have moved, against sellers.
