OPEN EYES.

Do you know, Fairiel, the other day wheu I ran around to tho shop to buy some butter for mummy, I saw a lot of sparrows in the middle of the road. I went over to see what was the matter, and all tho birds flew away. But, Fairiel, just where I was standing there was a dead sparrow; he was such a dear littlo one, too. I think he must have been a kind little bird for the sparrows to come round him when he was dead. Don't you, Fairiel?
