SOUTH AFRICAN FEELING STINK-BOMB THROWN Australian press Association—Unitec Service (Received IStli September, 11 a.m.) CAPETOWN, 17th September. . The Minister of the Interior, Dr. Malan, on behalf of the T'nion Government, has apologised to the Jlon. V. S. >S. Sastri, Agent-Genera! for India, for an unpleasant incident at Klerksdorp on .Saturday. Mr. Sastri attended a municipal banquet given in his honour. The DeputyMayor interrupted Sastri frequently, eventually shouting, "We did not come to listen to an Indian." Jn the hubbub the lights were switched off and a stink bomb thrown into the midst of the- assembly, the chemical bursting into flame. The Mayor summoned the gathering into tho open air, and characterised tho perpetrators of the outrage as cowards. His deputy, while disclaiming responsibility for tho bomb, states that drastic action was necessary to counter tho Government's pro-Asiatic policy.
