PRAISE FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS Not many minutes was occupied by tho airmen • this morning when they viewed at the Department'! own little
theatre tho Government Publicity film vvh'ieli records tho arrival of the Southern Cross at Sockburn. Although short, tho film is wonderfully comprehensive, showing the Bristol fighters escorting the triumphant monoplane as she nearod Christchurch after her 14 hours' flight, th-e actual landing, and tho enthusiastic crowds. At the conclusion of the screening, Captain Kingsford Smith expressed warm appreciation of the picture, Baying that he had never seen anything as good. Ho congratulated Mr. Messenger, who mentioned that copies had already been sent to all parts of the world and that those landed at Vancouver would be taken by air-mail direct, to New York. The other airmen also were delighted at the pictorial representation of. the air history which they had helped to make.
