Persia has signalled her elevation to the Couucil by raising in a commission which has nothing to do with it her quarrel with Irak, alleging frontier irritation and blaming India for the introduction of tho plague of cholera from India. A rather tactlesa speech drew a sharp rcpoinder from Mr. Locker Lampson (Britain), who pointed out that it was strange to hear a demand for judicial privileges for 200,000 Persians in Irak when Persia was abolishing all such privileges in her own country. Admittedly tho relations of Persia and Irak were not the happiest, but goodwill and not such speeches was the remedy. Tho Indian Mr. Mallik challenged the story of infection and curtly told Persia, if it had co.mplaints, to address , them to the Indian Government. . j
