PORT NICHOLSON SILVER BAND.

Once again the Porth Nicholson Silver Band attracted a crowded attendance at the Grand Opera House last night, when the twelfth recital of the season was given. Apart from band numbers excellently played as usual by the band, under Mr. J. J. 11™1 attached to the appearance of the Misses Mildred and Connie Harris. These two talented young ladies played the harp and violin and the Italian piano-accordion with rare artistry. Their offeriiiKS Included Hubay's "Czardas" "Just a Little Kiss," a gavotte (Played on the harp), and a pot nourrl of songs. They also Played a harp and violin accompaniment to the Cor songs of Mr. .Tack Hylton, who cave dolghtful renderings of "Until" and "Souven r." S Myra Sawyer, soprano,, was in exce lent vni™ and sans "Pipes of Tan" and "3?lvc Little Plcanlnnies" charmingly. Little Patricia Kerr was popular with recitations, commencing with •The Victor of Karcngo" and turning to lighter stutf, "Jonnny BrowS" and "As His Mother Used to Do." The saxophone playing.of Mr. Sidney Barrett was a popular in roductlon Ms clever instrumentalist played "Valso Hilda, "Saxarella," and "Mazarella"; his choice of Items wis good. The band gave excellent peronnances of the hymn "Nearer My God to Thee"; the overture, "Sea' Songs"; a Faust selection by Ord Hume; and the march, North Star." Mr. Frank Crowthcr was again the efficient accompanist.
