PROPOSED ENGLISH TEAM
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHJRISTCHURCH, This Day. The New Zealand Hockey Association dismissed a proposal to arrange a tour by an English team. Word was received from Mr. \V. J. Burton, at present in England, that the authorities considered it was impossible to send a fully representative team, as many of the leading players were attending universities. They considered, however, that a very strong team could be obtained from the Army and Navy. The secretary, Mr. Down, said that the team would be composed largely or entirely of officers, and the expenses of such a team would be very heavy. He suggested another visit from an Indian Army team. The meeting authorised Mr. Burton to make further negotiations before taking definite action.
