' (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post,") PALMERSTON N., This Day. The recently expressed opinion of the chairman (Mr. W. E. Barber) of the Manawatu County Council found support at Thursday's meeting of the Feilding Borough 'Council, when the Mayor (Mr. E. Fair) said that he had been approached by a financial institution with an offer of money at 5% per cent. This offer followed on the ratepayers' consent to the raising, of.a loan of £1050 for the water works improvement scheme. The Mayor thought that under the _ terms of the offer the council could raise the loan at the rate vof interest mentioned.
