The homecoming of Percy Williams, the Canadian Olympic sprint champion, to his native town was. the occasion of tremendous excitement and enthusiastic celebrations in Vancouver. Thousands thronged the streets, and a cheering procession over.a mile long escofted the runner, his mother, and; trainer to Stanley Park, where a huge crowd gathered. The whole, city practically made holiday. Bob Grainger, the, trainer, was presented with, a purse of 500 dollars, aud a fund-of 25,000 dollars to provide Percy with a university education is being raised. The Premier, Mr. S. F. Tolmie, senators, members of Parliament, and civic officials united to honour the local hero. The Mayor presented the city's gift of an automobile. ■ ... .
