RAILWAY EXCURSION
The splendid patronage accorded the week-end excursions run last.year by the Railway Department has influenced the Department to run similar excursions regularly this season, and it has been decided to start them somewhat earlier. The first excursion will be on the' '29th instant to Mount Egmont, and those desiring to go to Wanganui may do so. J he. fare will again be at half-rates. lno train will leave Wellington at 12.55 p.m. on the Saturday and returns Sunday night. Excursionists may secure accommodation at Hawera when purchasing then- rail tickets. The motor drive to the Mountain House passes through several miles of virgin forest, anil on arrival at Iho Mountain House the party will lie conducted by Hi.. Mount HgiiHtnt Alpine Club, .those unable to take on the (ask of climbing will be enabled to enjoy snow sports. Several other short walks of interest are also available. It should be a very enjoyable week-end.
