A PICTORIAL LIBRARY

An attractive library of beautifully illustrated books in paper covers printed in colours, is edited by Mr. S. P. B. Mais for the Bichards Press. Copies received includo one on "Flying," by Lieut.-Coloii.el W. Lockwood Marsh, M.A. This is mainly historical and traces man's conquest of the air from tho fable of Nimrod and his air-chariot drawn by eagles to the most modern airplane of to-day. The number is mo) c than adequately illustrated with an abundance of photographic reproductions of ancient and modern machines, both lighter and heavier than air. Throughout the pages tht evolution of flying is traced by one who understands the difficulties that have been encountered and conquered, and the various scientific points. Other works in the series each complete in itself, are "Shakespeare" by S. P. B. Mais, "Art," by Louis Hourticq; "London," by E. Beresford Chancellor, F.S.A., "Animals of the "World," by L. Jourbin; and a woll-written story of the "Cathedrals of England" by George Sinclair. The books measure 9Jin. x'7J and usually consist of between 60 and 70 pages, every page being illustrated and all clearly printed, on.surfaced paper
