William Reid M'Cnskill, a labourer, aged 27, who was charged with having obtained £1 10s by" false pretences, was remanded to Friday next on the application of Chief-Detective Ward, who said that there were other charges, which required looking into. ■ On a charge of having stolen £1, the property of Alice Gates, .Frank Lee was convicted and ordered to pay the money and costs, in default 21 days' imprisonment. For casting offensive matter, William Burns was lined 10s, in default three days' imprisonment.
