A TEARFUL MOTHER (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post,") AUCKLAND, This Day. Brought up to-day as a warning to others that they must not remove children without authority from the custody of the. Child Welfare Department, Mrs. H. Hall listened in tears to a police account of her offenco under the Act. In February sho went to the Avondale School to see her girl, who had been committed to the caTo of the State. Sho took tho child away and went to Sydney, where the girl was neglected, and was now a liability on that State. The Magistrate, Mr. Hunt, said that the woman had no right to take tho child away from Avondale and ncglcet her in Sydney, but convicted and discharged her.
