BACKING FOR PHIL SCOTT United Service. LONDON, 10th Sept. A "Sporting Life" syndicate is being formed with a capital of £5000, for the purpose of backing Phil Scott against any heavyweight in the world. Scott's supporters do not agree that Tunuey's retirement leaves Hocucy virtual champion; they point out that Scott lias twice beaten Hceney, therefore Scott is tlie rightful contender for the world's championship.
