JAPANESE SETTLERS

FOR AUSTRALIA'S SPACES (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post") AUCKLAND, This Day. Archdeacon Snow, of the South Australian diocese of Willochra, returning from Hawaii, says that Australia would do very well to make arrangements for the settlement of Japanese ou the waste unoccupied regions of north Australia. He says he was very impressed by the energy and industry of the Japanese in Hawaii, and was satisfied that their .presence does not tend to lower the standard of civilisation. A remarkable fact was that unlike the Chinese they did not intermarry with, other races in Hawaii. Tho Archdeacon added that the Japanese in Hawaii, even in tho second, third, and fourth generations, although distinctly Americanised, displayed immense affection for Japan and Japanese traditions.
