SORDID TRAGEDY
DISCOVERY AT SYDNEY j BARMAID AND CARPENTER (Received Ist September, 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A sordid tragedy was discovered to-day in a tumbledown washhouse in Underwood street, Paddington suburb. The dead body of Hilda Miller, an attractive barmaid of 29, with t!io Ihroat slashed, was lying near Aubrey Chapman, a. carpenter of 33, whose throat was also slashed. Chapman, however, was not dead. • ' Ho was unablo to give a coherent account of what had happened. The polico have been informed. Chapman is a married man.
