WELLINGTON COLLEGE CARNIVAL.

» A carnival, which is being organised by parents, old boys, staff, and pupils of-th« college, is to be held on Friday and. Saturday, 21st and 22nd September, to raise funds to floor and equip the basement of the Memorial Hall as a gymnasium and, social hall, and also to develop s. much-' needed new sports ground to the east iof I'irth House. Her Excellency, Lady Alice Fergusson, lias kindly consented to open the carnival. There will be various spectacular events, indoor and outdoor amusements, scientific displays, side-shows, and stalls of all descriptions. The committees are already busy making the preparations. An appeal is made to all old boys of the college fop donations of jam, vegetables, fruit, lamb, and other meat, bacon, and produce of all descriptions for the produce stall. Mr. Dunbar Sloane, 181, Featherston street, has kindly consented to arrange fortht reception of these gifts.
