To-morrow, Service, 11. Subject: "A D4Y Off joy," Sunday OBSERVANCE. Archbishop Julius's VIEWS, see livening Post," 30th August, 1928 Ihe first day of the Roman Week in New Zealand is the Bible Sabbath. The Archbishop says: "After morning service parents should take their children for a pleasant OUTING." But the Scriptures say: Let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. So the people RESTED on the seventh day." Ex. 16, 29-30. The A.B. said: "Associated with tha REST from work was the ENJOYMENT and THE PLEASURE of a Holiday." But the Scriptures say: "If you refrain from doing your own business upon the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on MY HOLY DAY, and call the Sahbath a delight, the HOLY of the LORD, honourable; and shalt HONOUR Hun, not doing Thine OWN pleasure, nor speaking thine own words. Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: FOR THE MOUTH OF THE LORD HATH SPOKEN." Isa. 58, 13, 14. The A.B. said: The Church has always laid down that the LORD'S DAY (not the Sabbath) should be a day for worship. WHAT CHURCH? The Roman R.C. Catechism says: "Remember that thou KEEP HOLY the LORD'S DAY." Page 33. "The Command to keep Sunday Holy does not come in the Bible; that we have to do it, RESTS on the TRADITIONS of the Catholic Church." Page 104. Doctrine Explanations. Has the A.B. turned down the English Protestant Church? Rev. 1: 10 in Greek reads: "I was in the Spirit IN the Lord's Day. Not on the Lord's Day. The Lord's Day begins after man's day had ended. The text does not refer to the first day, or to the Sabbath. The A.B. asks: "What is the menace threatening the future of the Sabbath?" The real reply is: "For turning the 7tli day down for the Ist. Which is done by that SPURIOUS INNOVATION of tha International Date-line which they have fixed in the Pacific Ocean, near New Zealand. Also by the delusion ■ that Jesus rose from the dead upon Sunday, therefore we must keep Sunday. But the Old Testament and the New proves that Jesus rose from the dead upon Saturday. Hosea 6: 1,2; I. Cor. 15: 1-4} Matt. 28: 1-G. The A.B. concludes with thest w»<l>: "Let men play tennis and cricket M tMjR want to. Let them play anything, tamftQ the devil." The ETERNAL commands: REMEMBER the Sabbath Day to keep it HOLY. Ex. 20: 8. Sunday is the devil's day, and the A.B. does say we are not to play with him. That is good advice. We cannot substitute the Creator's profane first day of the week, for the HOLY SEVENTH Day Sabbath, and PUT no difference between the HOLY and the pro* fane., See Eze. 22: 26. Thus saith the Lord when He is near to come: "Blessed is the man that keepeth the Sabbath from poluting it." Isa. 56: 1-7. What does the CHURCH command? Ans.: "It is the whole of Sunday—twenty hours—which is to be kept Holy. Tha Lord's day begins at twelve o'clock on Saturday night, and continues till midnight on Sunday." R.C. Doctrine Explanations, page 107. The Creator's Day is from "Evening and the morning." Gen. 1: 5. The Roman Day is from morning to evening. The days begin when the day can be divided from the Night, that is, at Sunset. But that cannot be done at midnight. The light can be divided from the darkness at Sunset. But it cannot be at midnight. See Gen. 1: 14-19. Even birds and animal* know when it is sunset. "Ask the very beauts, and they will teach you. Ask the wild birds—they will tell you." Job 12; 7-10. ,"A bullock knows its owner, and the ass its master's Manger, but Israel doeg not care, my people never heeds me." Isa, 1:3. Moffatt's Translations. "If thou will enter into LIFE (Eternal) Keep the Commandments," says Christ Jesua. Matt. 19: 10, 17. The Sabbath is still one of them. "By this we know the children of God, WHEN" we LOVE GOD and keep His Command--ments. for this is the LOVE of God. that we KEEP His Commandments." , I. John 5: 2,3. It is necessary to keep every one of the Ten Commandments, for the Scripture says: "Whosoever shall offend in ONE shall become guilty of all." Jas. 2: 10, The keening of the Sabbath seems to be "The HOUR of TEMPTATION, which shall come upon all the world, to TRY THEM that dwell upon the earth." Rev. 3:10. We shall call the Sabbath a delight, then it will not be GRIEVOUS. . God speaks to the godless: "What right'have you to repeat my LAWS; and taki my compact on your lips, when you hatfi me to control you, and TOSS my RULES be* hind your Backs?" Pa. 50: 16, 17. "Mark this, you who ignore Me, or I will tear • you in pieces, with none to protect you.' V. 22. \ "How long is it to last, O thou Eternal,. this exultation of the Ungodly, men blustering insolently, lording it arrogantly? Fs. • 94: 3, 4, Moffatt. "But to the man will I look, even to him that is poor and or' a contrite spirit and trembleth at my; WORD." Isa. 66: 2. "What lew for; are humble, broken creature*, wh(V«and ; in AWE of all I say." Isa., Moffatt Trtns* DAVID NTELD, Tsaehe*. '\i
