PAETY CONFERENCES GENERAL ELECTION AHEAD British Official Wlreleai. RUGBY, 20th August. Exceptional interest attaches to the political party conferences which have been arranged for the autumn, as they will be the last annual meetings of the kind before the General Election. The Conservative Party Executive met yestorday to consider arrangements for its conference at which upwards of 1500 delegates will attend, representing organisations in every Parliamentary constituency in England and Wales. The conference will be held at Great Yarmouth, and will begin on 26th September. A mass meeting .will be addressed by the Pxime Minister on the following, day, and other members of Cabinet and prominent members of Parliament will engage in a platform campaign, comprising a series of meetings throughout tho Eastern Counties. Other political parties are also actively preparing for next year's election campaign, which has added importance owing to the addition of nearly flvo and a quarter million voters to the -electorate as the. result of the recent extension of the franchise to. women of twenty-one. Great Yarmouth will also be the scefte of the Liberal Party Con: forenee, which haa been fixed for 11th and X2tb October. The agenda for conference comprises about twenty re* solutions, covering the whole field of national policy, which will be aubmited by the. executive to afford authoritative guidance to candidates, and others and to form the b^sis subsequently of a general manifosto to the nation.
