TARANAKI HUNT CLUB'S FIXTURE
The annual meeting o£ the Taranaki Hunt Club takes place at New Plymouth to-morrow. Class is lamentably weak in the jumping and hunter races, but in the! open and hack flat events there is material engaged which should produce good racing. ltacing -will start at 11.45 with the LIPPERTON HUUTERS1 HUKDIjKS, of SO aovs; ono mile-and a balf. ■:
stlb stiD Bay Dighton ,10 8 Michael Blago ...... 9 7 Slllmosc 0 0 Jnahman ... 0 3 Chyrri.i 9 0 Flklmal "9 0 Harrowgato ..9 0 Bay Dighton has shown most pace of thoso engaged in this event,, but it is doubtful if lie is anything like his best. Blago went a fair race at Hastings last Saturday, and Inahman ran a good second in the same event last year. Possibly Inahman will improve ou lust year's race. OPUNAKE SCUERY, of 90 sots; flvo furlongs; all 8.0. LIonore? Bisognc—Camptlrc Buster Cut maro filly Finey Boundary Our Nancy Tnmatero . Tangerlm Pompeius Potoncy Jtlllct Calapat Edulof Teresa Bell Safa' Calaralne Miss Pakako Lady Qucx Hying Bingo None of the acceptors have any striking form, but last season Buster Cut and Tangerim showed pace enough,in races to warrant their being respected in this class. The three-year-old Calapat would have preference, but may want a race after a lengthy spell. „ HUNTERS' MAIDEN STEEPLECHASE, of 90 sovs; two miles. • stlb stlb WaUanehau ..10 7 Hilton 10 0 Huirangi Girl 10 4 Vitality 10 0 Hats Off .... 10 2 Excelsior .... 10 0 Trouble 10 2 Flying Fran ..30 0 Liberal Lady 10 0 Passport 10 0 Nimblef oot .. 10 0 This .event will prove a puzzle to bettors, as not an acceptor has any performance over fences as a recommendation, although Waitanehu showed winning form in flat events decided at a non-totalisator meeting held at Urenui. . WAIHI HACK HANDICAP, of 100 sots ; seven furlongs, stlb '■ ' stlb Flying Shot .. 9 0 Kaha 8 3 Miss Jlercia .. S 13 Green Aero .. 8 2 Trollus S 12 Whisogne ... 8 2 ; Gasnapper ... 8 i Te Karero ... 8 0 This is quite a good class field, and several of the acceptors should be well supported. Seeing that Whizone and Troilus arc well seasoned by winter racing, they should at least run prominently. TARANAKI HUNT CUP STEEPLECHASE, of . .190 sors; two miles and a half. stlb stlb Haerema! ..10 7 Trouble 10 0 Pompclus ..10 5 Liberal Lady 10 0 Waitanehau ..10 5 Passport . 10 0 Inahman ... 10 2 Hilton .10 0 Huirangi Girl 10 2 While the Aueklander Pompeius has not shown form "over country," his running at fEUerslie last June suggests his being better than any of those opposing him to-morrow. STRATFOKD HANDICAP, of 110 sovs; sis , . furlongs. st 1b st lb Te. Gazoloy 7 0 Oration 7 8 Seastnr . 7 0 This is a better field than one would expect to find at such a meeting. Many of the acceptors will be short of work, but Monaghan, Oration, and Hoariri have all been racing during the winter season, and no doubt will run well;, , v HUNTERS' PLAT HANDICAP, of 90 sovs; one mile- and a quarter. ■' stlb stlb Bay Dighton .. 11 S Cuyrria 10 0 Waitanehau ..10 7 Razor 10 0 Blago 10 G Flying Fran . 10 0 Haeremai ... 10 0 Quarrelsome Michael . Kitty 10 0 Shimose 10 0 Patrolet 10 0 IE reserved for this event, Blago may make some return for a number of failures. Of the other acceptors,, Bay Dighton and Waitarehu have past performances to recommend them. UHENUI.HACK HANDICAP, of 100 sovs; aix furlongs, stlb stlb Denier 8 6 Yawl 7 2 Onward 8 6 Green Acre .. 7,2 Miss Merela . 7 12 Tangerim ... 7 0 Flying Shot •.. 7 IV Merxcis 7 0 Te Atiawa .. 7 10 Bisogne filly-.. 7 0 Argue ......; 7 10 Boundary ... 7 0 Monsogno ... 77 Te Karere ... 70 These are quite a useful lot, but again racing condition, or the want of' same, wiU affect the chances of some of those 'engaged. Monsogne raced well on a soft track at Egmont last May, and may do so again'to-morrow. The stablemates, 'Miss Mercia and Te Atiawa, are also likely' to perform well.
