WAR RELIEF ASSOCIATION

A meeting of the executive committee o£ tho Wellington War Relief, Association was held yesterday, Mr. C. M; Luke prosidinn. There were also present Messrs. A. Macintosh, G. Mitchell, and the secre■tary (Mr. A. O. Leach). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. L. 0. H. Tripp and L. J. Harrison. It was reported that since the last meeting the Applications Committee bad received 348 applications, of which 48 wer« from men who had. not previously approached the committee. The Emergency Committee had dealt with 118 o£ the applications, 149 claims being disposed of by the Applications Committee. The remainder were still under action. Tho Finance Committee reported that 14 applications for assistance by way of loans had been dealt with since the last meeting. Three of them, involving £375, were approved, and the others were de---1 cVmed.
