The Commissioners of the State Savings Bank of Victoria for Credit Foncier purposes accepted the offer of Messrs.. John Goodall and 'Co., • Melbourne, for underwriting a loan of £1,000,000, w.hich will be placed on the market for public subscription almost immediately. This loan is guaranteed-by the Victorian Government, and is free of State tax, but subject to Commonwealth tax. The interest rate is 5% per Cent., theissue price £99, and currency ten years and a half, redemption having been fixed-for 1939. Messrs.. J. B. Were and Co. have underwritten the Melbourne and Metropolitan loan of £1,500,000 at 5% per cent., issued at par, repayable 1944. ..'.'.■■
