Prices of all first-grade investments, however, keep very high. There ought to be m,orc ''spring" in the market, and it is not easy to assign any one cause for. the prevailing dullness. Auckland Cities were wanted at £96 and £100 respectively, but holders did not quote. Christchurch City 4>» per cent. 193-1 had buyers at £101. •'-In'-the"company debenture market there were buyers of 5 per cent. Auckland Gas (1932) with £93, but holders were silent. Wellington Gas were wanted at £100, no sellers. Glaxos were in 'demand at £90, sellers quoting £91 10s. .Quotations of j £89 for the 6% percent, debentures of the N.Z. Farmers"'Co-op.- were made by buyers, the holders wanting £01, and for the G per cents, of this company £S6 was offered, but' sellers held out for £90. Sales, recoidrd during the week.were Auckland (paid) 23s and contributing 17s; also Chnstchurch 10s paid.sold at 12s Gd.'..; ;- ■-. -.. , There was nothing exciting in the coal mines market.- • Sales were registered as follows :-Westport, 30s XSd, Taupin 27s Cd; Hikurangi 6s, and Westport-Stockton 3s Bd. Holders of Waipa will take 14s 6d, but buyers are unresponsive. In shipping shares there was some business in Huddart-Parker Ordinaries sales being as follows:-^9s 3d, 495, 49s 6d, 49s Cd 49s 3d - 495, in that order. Buyers ai c fcrence are in demand at 20s sci.. Hayward's Pictures, 20s; Holden's Motors, 32s Cd; Morris Hedstrom, 21s; Wilson's Cement, 38s 9d, °9s .There is very little to report in the mining market. Waihi sellers asked 13s 3d, no buyers. ' Mount Lyells wanted 34s no seUers. Sales recorded were as follow: Ohinemuri (ordinary), 7s 9d, 7s^lOd, and (pref.)
