NOT ABANDONED
SEARCH FOR AMUNDSEN KRASSIN TO TRY AGAIN ALL NEXT MONTH United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Australian ■ Press Association. MOSCOW, 28th August. The search for Captain Amundsen lias not been abandoned yet. The icebreaker Krassin has been repaired and has left Bergen for King's Bay, where the Russian airman, Chuldmovsky, will join it, thence proceeding to ]?ranz Josef Land. The Krassin carries a hut, which it will place on Franz Josef Land for the airmen's use. Six months' provisions are aboard. It is planned to search till the end of September. Captain Amundsen, accompanied by Captain Guilb.aud and Dietrichsen, a spare pilot, left Tromsoe at 4 o'clock on 19 th June in a seaplane for Spitzbergen to aid in the rescue of General Ndbile's crew, and the party has not been heard of since. It is believed that thoy might have attempted to fly direct to IToyn Island, near where the Italia's survivors were marooned, a distance of 700 miles. The Bussian airman Chuklmovsky, in attempting to rescue members of the crew, damaged his machine-in a. forced landing, and was stranded on the ice for several days until rescued by the Krassin.
