GENERAL ELECTION
A CONDITIONAL CONSENT (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHEISTCHTJRCH, This Day. Mr. E. H. Andrews, a member of the City Council, has consented to stand as the United Party candidate for the Christchurch South seat, on condition that an assurance is given by the United Party that it will not under any circumstances vote to place the Labour Party in power, provided that no party is returned with a clear majority at the election.
