' "San Francisco, 26th July.—lt is a matter of record that this is Tunney's first 15-round bout as champion, both of his clashes with Dempsey having been 10-round decision affairs. Ho is the first heavyweight champion to capture the title without knocking out his opponent. Some observers believe lie will knock out Torn Heeney, of New Zealand, tonight. In the v matter of weight Heeney will have ay ten pounds advantage. He figures to scale a little over 2001b, while the champion expects to enter the ring at about 1911b. The champion has one big advantage over his rival outside of boxing skill. He has a reach of 74£ in against 72in for Heenoy."—San Francisco "Examiner." '"New York Times' under date 26th July. Dempsey in a statement to-day said: 'Heeney has a wonderful pair of logs, and that he needs against Tunney. If I had Heeney's legs,' he said, 'I could whip Tunney easily.' A crowd of sixty thousand.is expected to-night to see the champion risk his title at the Yankee Stadium. Tunney is a three-to-one favourite against the rugged New Zealander, but the betting is light.
