The Blues were getting the ball from most of the scrums, but whenever the Green hookers were successful their backs gained ground. A good .passing rush by the' University backs end;cd in Brown scoring, Rumson did not convert. University 0; Berharopore -0. Lung made a good run, but those outside of him failed to carry on, and the University backs set up a passing rush, in their own twenty-five. Williams outpaced the opposition in a long run and scored. Kamson failed to convert, University 0, Lerhampore 0. Deere missed ■ narrowly with a pennlty, and the University bucks got under way once more. Mackenzie cut m nicely, and Kanison beat a couple ot the opposition before grounding the ball underneath the posts. He converted his own try. University 14, Berhampore 0. The Gr^eh- backs were alw'nys dangerous when lin possession, but the Berhumpore forwards
I made a spurt, and University were penalised when in defence. Deere goaled. The second spell was more even, witn the ball mostly confined to the forwards. Berhompore made every effort to keep the game tight. Good work by Brown, O'Regan, and Diedrich ended in the lastnamed scoring. Ranison's kick went wide. University 17, lkrfiampore_ 3. University got out of a dangerous position by forcing, but the Blues maintained the attack, and twice ,went cbse to scoring. A good dribbling rush by the Berhampore pack got within striking distance, and ■Mouatt, picking up from the loose, scored near the corner. The kick was too raueli for Deere. University 17, Berhampofe 0. University retaliated with a penetrating passing rush, in which Mackenzie broke through. He passed to Williams, who scored. Cormaek failed with the kick. University 20, Berhampore 6. Both sides made determined efforts in the closing stages, but there was no further scoring. Sir. T. A. Fletcher was the referee.
