LODGE MEETINGS
The meeting of Melrose Lodge, No. 00, U.A.0.D., held on Tuesday evening last, was well attended. Visitors present included D.P. Bro. Rowlands, No. 21 District, D.P.- Bro. Aitken, No. 2 District, and A.D.'s,. officers, and members from Pacific, Excelsior, Coronation, Island Bay, and Holly Lodges. During the evening a presentation Of a P.A. collar and diploma was made to P.A. Bro. F. H. Prentice. The secretary of ithe lodge, in' making the presentation, spoke in high praise of the work done by the recipient, who also received many congratulations from/other quarters. Bro. Prentice suitably responded, and extended his thanks for assistance received during his term of office. At the conclusion of ledge: business, visitors and members were entertained .at supper, various toasts, being proposed and musical and i.elocutionary items contributed. An invitation has been forwarded to Coronation Lodge to play for the Hawke Cup at the next meeting. Various ret>orts were received, and two new members proposed. Pioneer Lodge, No. 1, U.A.0.D., held its usual meeting last Wednesday, A.D. Bro. Cartner being in the chair under the supervision of Bro. Reeyes, assistant, superintendent. P.A. Bro. Bolt, of Coronation Lodge, was the only visitor. Two new members were initiated.
