REGENT THEATRE.

Before the most ancient civilisation arose, before tho first city in. the world was built, beforo man trod the earth—then, as now, there stretched across vast spaces of farther Asia, a great green threatening mass of vegetation —the jungle. Han. hacked his way in the I jungle, defying Nature, and .braving the dan- ' gers of the wild, beasts. Time and again, fields and towns were hacked out of the jungle, but they are forgotten. Always the jungle rose in wrath and swallowed them. Such is tho tale of "Chang,", to be shown finally tonight at tho llegent Theatre. 1A story of man's fight for existence, a fight that is life Itself, stark, real, almost-.unbelievable...la' told. The little clearing becomes a. homo, the beasts arc beaten off or killed, - and then comes peace I For a day . .perhaps for a month . . . perhaps a year but not for long. A Gazette, educational, and comedy are in support, with speciiii music by the orchestra under Mr Ivan Knsr-Uo. A fine bill is promised' patrons of the Regent Theatre to-morrow, when there will bo a splendid comedy in association with, a Now York vaudeville act. "Wife Savers," featuring Wallace Beery and' Ritympwl Hattpn, Is the greatest comedy 'this pair has made. Snowslides, avalatiches,. toppling cliffs, ..and ..terrific blizzards','..aiTcontrlbute to the excitement and suspense of~~"Wife Savers." Every thrill, however, Is said to be Jinked to a gasping laugli. The cast includes such noted fun-makers as Ford Sterling, Zasu 'Pitts, Tom Kennedy, George Y. Harvey, ana Sally- Blanc. as'an added attraction, the management announce that amid a setllng which Is artistic, and. startling !n Us. novelty, two of vaudeville's headllners, li'iorrie le Vere, America's great comedienne, ami Lou Handman, song composer, will appear. Miss le Vere sings .dances, and does 'mnorsnnaT.luns of celebrities, The piano-playing and whistling of Handman, who also vids a few touches of comedy, contrlbuto iruch to" this celebrated act. for he -Is. sald''to be> as good a pianist as a song writer.1- During;, °ach performance he plays or. whistles a ■me'iley or two of some of the hits he gave the world, choosing from such numbers as "MV Sweetie Went Away," "Blue." "My Love? Came Back." "Charleston Back to Charleston," "When I Was a. Dandy and You Were a ■ ■Belle/-' "If I can't Get the One T Want,"""and"~"Twelve O'clock at Night." The box plans are now open at The Bristol and the theatre.
