The following forecast was Issued at 9 a.m. to-day for the ensuing 24 hours:— Winds—Westerly winds, moderate to strong generally, with galo force at places south of New Plymouth and Castlepoiut. Barometer—Unsteady; falling slowly soon. Seas—Kather rough on tho western coast and off the east coast south of Castlepoint; moderate elsewhere. Tides—Good. Warning signals for westoryly gales are exhibited at Castlepolnt, Cape Campbell, Stephen's Island, Farewell Spit, and the Nuggets. Weather —Unsettled, changeable, and squally weather, with further rain in tho western and southern districts. Still mainly fair to cloudy on tho east coast; mild temperatures.'
