RECORD ATTENDANCES KING OF SPAIN PRESENT! British Official Wlrtleis. RUGBY, 29th June. The Wimbledon lawa tennis championships, which began on Monday and will continue through next week, are proving as popular as ever, and there is little doubt that last year's attendance record of 200,000 for the whola meeting will be exceeded. There were 12,000 on the ground to-day one hour ' before play began. ' Fine'weather has enabled good progress to be made in all events. '. In the men's singles, of eight officially "seeded players, two have now been defeated—F. T. Hunter (U.S.A.) and G. L. Patterson (Australia).
