OBITUARY
RICHARD WHITEING British Official Wireless. (Received 30th June, 10.45 a.m.) EUGBY, 29th June. Eichard Whiteing, the well-known novelist, died to-day at the age of 88. Richard Whiteing entered journalism in 18C6, and was at various times connected with the "Manchester Guardian," tho "Now York World," and the "Daily News." He wrote many books, the best known of which is "No. 5, John street," 1899, adapted for the screen in 1921.
