KHANDALLAH AFFAIRS
The annual meeting of the Khandallah. Progress Association was hejd last night. Mr. M. S. Galloway presiding. There was a good attendance. The'following resolutions were put to'the meeting by Mr. Wallace (of the Civic League.) :—(1) "That the City Council be requested to approach the Eailway Department now, with a view to taking over the railway permanent way from Thorndon to Johnsonville, or such part of it as is advisable when the Tawa Flat deviation is in use, the section taken over to be incorporated with, and as an integral part of, the city tramway system." (2) "That the Wellington Civic League be requested to'use its influence in connection with tho foregoing resolution." Both resolutions were carried unanimously. . Mr. Wallace intimated that the matter would bo discussed at the'next meeting' of the Civic League. The following officers were elected for the coming year:—President, Mr. D. G. -Clark, 'C.8.E.; vice-president, Mr. F. J; Brookor; secretary, Mr. A. H. S. Lucas; hori. treasurer, Mr. L. E.. Arcus; executive committee, Messrs. H. C. Hcays, G. E. Baker, F. Eogerson, J. G. Eule, and E. Meek; hon. auditor. Mr. .0. Kembnv.
