A NOMINAL - PENALTY
When Chong Kee Lee, market: gardener, of Otaki, was charged in' the Magistrate's Court to-day with having failed to pack sacks of cauliflowers in such a way as to1 give a fair idea of the size, maturity, and condition of the contents, Mr. J. F. B. Stevenson,.counsel for the defendant, said that he.had conferred with the Department of Agriculture, and it had been agreed subject to the Court's approval, to treat the offence as a technical one, and to plead^ guilty. The Department asked for a nominal penalty. .Mr. E. Page, S.M., imposed a fine of &1.
