INTO THE SUNLIGHT
, PRIME MINISTER'S OPTIMISM (By Telegraph.). (From Our Special Reporter.) * PALMEBSTON N., This Day, ' The firm conviction that New Zealand had overcome its economic difficulties was expressed by the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. J. G. Cdates) when speaking at the opening of the National Dairy Show yesterday. "We'have passed through a difficult period," he said, "and the difficulty has been felt particularly by the primary producers. I think it has been brought'home to most citizens of this country, that unless thel primary pror ducer is, prosperous, the rest of the community will experience difficult times. - Thanks to the energy of the people of this country. and the energy of those occupied in the primary industries and other essential services, and thanks to the guidance of a sympathetic and competent Government, we are passing through the shades and coining into' the sunlight once again. Don't think for one'moment that I am over-optimis-tic. As sure as we are here to-day we will see the depression gradually pass away. Facts and figures placed before this country and its people will clearly show that you can wipe away all thoughts of pessimism and depression,- and can look forward to the future, confident that you are going to get a return for your labour and industry." (Loud applause.)
