The annual report of the Kelburn • Bowling Club states that 19 playing members were elected during the year, • . i were transferred to the honorary list, v - and 9 playing members resigned, leaving the roll at the end of the year: 117 '■' playing and 10 honorary members. It was feared'that increased play, owing to the Summer-time Act, : would overtax the greens, but by frequently changing rinks, they lasted ~, well. In the Centre competition,'. B. A. Harris, in the singles, reached the semi-final, H. Williams and M. Eoutley; won the pairs, and in the rinks, Messrs. Williams, Harris, Smith, and ■ Lowry won»a handsome victory. For this last event the club has been runner-up for the last three seasons. Kelburn, with no less than 14 rinks, was third in the Senior Pennant Competition with, an average of 58.92, being beaten by Petone and Karori. The Junior Pennant team was not so successful. The club attained a fair measure of success in the mid-week games. The winners of the competitions arranged by the club were: —Junior singles, A. D. Kerr; senior singles (Atkins Cup), - B. A. Harris; champion pairs, H. Williams and T. Gray; champion rinks, L. C. Eorgie, H. Hannah, E. K. Lomas, and R. H. Stephens; Wilson Cup, A. G. Grabham and A. E. Whiteford; ' ' Lloyd Cup, N. Ewart, G. F. Taylor, F. ; E. AVrite, and L. Strickland; progr'es- ; sive pairs (Anniversary Day), F. S. Pope and J. Eeid; New Year's Day, W. j, Bray, H. Williams, and A. Purdie.' . • j"
