PORT NICHOLSON' BAND

A good programme of music, vocal and instrumental items, lias been arranged for tlio recital In the Grand Opera House to-morrow evening by the Port Nicholson Hand. Supporting professional artists Include Miss Alma May, an Australian contralto, who will be heard in songs. from. her extensive repertoire, including "Hills of Donegal"; Mr. H. E. Rodger, a baritone, who has been associated on the concert platform with the brilliant soprano. Miss Florence Austral, will be heard in "The Slave Song": Sirs Kalhleen Palmer, soprano, will give Itudolf Friml's lilting melody, "Tin Hubble Song," from "High Jinks": Mr. Samuel Duncan, popular tenor. will sing "Angels Guard Thee." The violin obbligato will be played ly Mr, Jack Harper. A feature of the programme should be the first appearance of Hie child artist, Ismay M'llroy, ivbo lias been most, successful at competition's throughout the Dominion. She will bo heard in "Little Ited Kiding Hood." Miss Ivy Hell will act as accompanist. The band items have been carefully selected, and include the livmn, "Xcar.-r. Mv God": overture, "Tancrcdi": selection "Item, of Sullivan": concert valsc. "lSaclianale": and the stirring march, "Joyce's 71st."
